We are happy to help you acquire a firearm from another dealer (Palmetto, GunBroker, GrabAGun, Buds, etc). Marksman Firearms / WTE Enterprises, LLC is listed as a “Preferred Dealer” with a lot of them, meaning they have a copy of our FFL on file. All you need to do is select us during the checkout process. If the selling dealer does not have a copy of our FFL on file they will need to reach out to us to request a copy. They may do this by emailing us at ffl@marksmanfirearms.com or by providing you with an email address to share with us to get the information to them. We DO NOT release our FFL information to the public. It is our store policy (not federal law) that we will ONLY receive serialized items that are shipped from FFL holders, NOT private individuals.
You will usually be provided with tracking information for your firearm when it has been shipped. If you receive a notification from the carrier or USPS that your item has been delivered, that DOES NOT mean that your item is ready to be picked up at our store.
When a firearm is delivered to us, it must be checked in to our system before we can transfer it to you. This is federal law. We understand that you are excited to receive your new item and we try to get items received transferred on the same day. Depending on how busy we are on any given day, this may not be possible. Please wait until you are contacted by phone, email or text advising you your purchase is ready for you to pick up.
You must be at least 21 years old to transfer / pick up a stripped or complete lower receiver, pistol frame, handgun or pistol grip shotgun.
To avoid potential fraud and straw purchases the firearm(s) can only be transferred to the buyer named on the invoice.
When you come to the shop to pick up your purchase you must provide a valid government issued photo identification document that contains your name, current residence address and date of birth. A driver’s license or State ID card is acceptable. A combination of government issued documents may be provided if the information on your photo identification is not current. A non-city owned utility bill or bank statement, etc. are not acceptable as they are not government issued. If you have any questions regarding this, please give me a call.
You will be required to complete a ATF form 4473 and have a FBI NICS background check run every time you have an item transferred to you. Occasionally the system cannot provide an immediate response and it will create a DELAY which gives the FBI three business days, beginning at midnight on the day the request was submitted to continue their research. In those cases no transfer will be made until a final response is received or the three day period has expired.
A 2022 law called the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act (BSCA) now requires NICS to go beyond the usual routine for under-21 gun buyers. Under age buyers will always be DELAYED. The new law extends the time examiners have to investigate under-21 cases from 3 to 10 business days.
Our transfer fee for all non-NFA items is $30.00 per item. Cash is preferable
